Title: Dateable
Author: J. Lookadoo & Hayley DiMarco
The main theme of this book was to give insight on dating. You're supposed to ask yourself, "Are you dateable?"
The main thing I got from this would be THE WHOLE THING!!! I learned that dating should be fun and not all serious like every high school girl takes it. As much as they think it will work out, or how much they think they love each other...it's high school for crying out loud!
Looking at my past relationships, I wonder to myself, why did I even go there? It is good advice to not date in high school. Be friends! Hang out! Sure you might have crushes, but dating is a sticky mess and it's not worth all th time we girls put into it.
I give this book 4 stars!!
If we want students to become FERVENT, PASSIONATE, FIERCE followers of Christ, that is what we MUST live out in front of them. This blog is dedicated to supporting Ardent leadership as they grow out loud!

Heidi's Book Review Feb 2011
Title: Crazy Love
Author: Francis Chan
The main idea of this book was to not be afraid and get out and do what God has called you to do! God is the almighty one and we can trust Him. This book was definitely a 5 out of 5 stars and it taught me to look at how I treat others. I should treat them as if they were Christ Himself. God desires that we love those in need as much as we love ourselves. Not easy to do...

Bre's Book Review: Hooked
I loved this book! The main idea of this book was to look at how our brain registers any sexual activity. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed the stories from people in their real lives. I also thought it was interesting how our brain responds to not just sex, but also hugging and being close.
Nathan's Book Review: Jesus For President
Authors: Shane Claiborne & Chris Haw
I must say this is a fantastic book. I have been a big reader of Shane and own all of his books. He has a wonderful way of working through the bible to explain how life is able to apply to our lives. I find this book to be very inspiring and full of wisdom. I'm not much for politics, but this book sheds a new light on the way we look at politics. If we look at politics through the eye of Christ we see how the empire is the force that works againest us. It no longer is a Christian nation when the values of Christ are no longer present and you'll soon find the there is a third way out of everything. You learn another world is possible and that war is not the way to fix our problem. We learn how to change the world that it is no longer the governments responsibility to change things but ours. And we can do it without them. This book is for the young and the old, but mostly anyone who wants to know what Jesus has to say about the Empire that we call the US of A. We see how Rome and the US is not so far apart and how to respond in a way that honors Christ. For anyone who is a Christian, but gets to caught up in election time. This book is for you. May God open our eyes to the powers that be. Jesus for President!

Nathan's Book Review: Lord Save Us From Your Followers
The most recent book I have read was Lord Save Us From Your Followers. I found this book to be an okay read, but nothing stuck out to much to me. The idea of the book is to find why the gospel of love is dividing America. His idea to figure it out is to but on a bumper sticker jumpsuit and hit the streets. While the idea is very do-able, i figure it would be just as simple to walk up and ask, without said jumpsuit.
He also interviewed many people that I have never heard of, but I guess are important people. The is one problem I have with this book. The almost insane amount of talk about politics. He talks about the left and the right in almost every chapter. I believe that Christians should not get to caught up in politics. I believe this is a very good book, but overall is not the best. The book could bring alot more to the plate. But there is a movie of the same title that follows the book which may make this a much better read. Nonetheless, if this book needed a rating I would give it a 3.5 of 5. Don't get me wrong, this book has many good points, but I feel it could provide some more. I pray that this book does reach out to someone and that God may use it for his will.
